Every place has a story.

Vine City's history connects everyday neighborhood life with Atlanta's civil rights story, resident advocacy, and a changing city.

The National Park Service identifies the King family home at 234 Sunset Avenue as part of Vine City. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King purchased the home in 1965; the first King Center offices were in its basement after Dr. King's assassination.
